The process for making the earrings involves sawing copper sheet, enameling layers of white enamel in a kiln, and adding 24k gold leaf. Both sides of the earrings have been enameled. The ear wire is handmade from recycled sterling silver.
I approach my craft with 15 years of experience using traditional and time-honored metalsmithing traditions in my upstate NY studio.
Caring for the environment is a keystone of my practice. I source my metals from companies that provide recycled material. Sourcing from sustainable companies that reclaim and process fine metals means that my materials are not newly mined, which makes for an eco-friendly practice.
