Handcrafted sphere vase by Colleen McCall. This uniqually shaped sphere vase is delicately handpainted with bright florals in yellow, blue, white, and orange. The beautiful brown of the clay contracts wonderfully with the floral scene portrayed on top. This vase is sure to add a sense of charm to anyone's decor.

About the Artist:

Decorated inside and out and from top to bottom, Colleen's hand built pottery is inspired by vibrant textile patterns and the unique shapes and textures in vintage glassware. Crafting from custom made plaster press molds and soft clay slabs, she designs unique one-of-a-kind dishes durable enough for everyday use. An opaque layer of porcelain slip creates a blank canvas for layering wax, colored slip and underglazes. The rich brown clay beneath is revealed when she draws the final outlines using a technique known as sgraffito. The resulting item is pure joy, empty or filled.
