Glass Leaf Multicolored Necklace
Item Description:
Created using high temperature lamp work, these glass beads are individually sculpted and strung together in this incredible statement piece.
About the Artist:
Julia Bonney has her own glass studio where she make beads from glass rods that come from Italy, Germany, China, and the U.S. Sitting at a torch that's about 3,000 degrees she melts, shapes, and decorates the glass, and then anneals her beads in a kiln overnight to make them strong and stable. She uses her beads to construct jewelry and to create beaded handles for objects such as jam spoons, cheese knives, and coffee scoops. She incorporates sterling silver chain and findings and sometimes semi-precious stones such as citrine, turquoise, lapis, and pyrite.
