Large Sculptural Bug Vase

This colorful vase is handmade by Chet Salustri. This unique vase is a beautiful sculpture in and of itself, but don't flowers make everything better? It is decorated with dots, stripes, and small clay bugs that are ready to make a home in your flowers.

Chet's method of production involves combining thrown pottery forms with hand built forms. When the forms are hard, they are cut and designed to make one piece. He makes cups, bowls, teapots, vases and covered jars. The glazing process involves applying underglaze color with a spray gun along with some brush work. After the work is fired in a kiln, he covers the piece with glaze and fire again to give a glossy finish.
