These handmade wool dryer balls are eco-friendly, sustainable, and reusable. They can replace dryer sheets and help dry clothes faster with fewer wrinkles and less static. The wool that I use is humanely harvested in the USA. I recommend using all 3 dryer balls in every load.
With attention to detail and a touch of whimsy, Laureen creates one of a kind pieces ranging from wet-felted jewelry to 3-dimensional wool sculptures. In wet felting, wool and sometimes other fibers are married by the use of hot water and friction. In needle-felting, special barbed needle(s) is used to stab the wool into itself, creating shape and form. Because there is no pattern involved, each object is unique and takes on it's own character.
Laureen uses ethically sourced fibers from small farms in NY and PA and MD. Her main focus is on 3-dimensional woodland creatures and fairie folk.
Laureen didn't discover felting until 2013 and after retiring from a career in hairdressing, needed a new creative outlet. She lives and works out of Elmira, NY.
