Medium Illustrative Rabbit Bowl
Item Description:
This charming, wheel thrown bowl features a band of hand painted flowers above pair of white bunnies dashing through the bushes. A speckled green and brown glazed interior and altered rim give way to an exterior decoration that makes clever use of raw clay as a background for painted flowers. This exposed clay doubles as the linework in a sgraffito illustration of rabbits and foliage that rings the bottom of the bowl. Including a pair of wooden chopsticks, this will be the perfect vessel for the ramen, pasta, or soup of your choice!
About the Artist:
Smokepail Studios is the brainchild of mother-daughter duo Dia and Ellen Haffar. Combining hand-thrown forms with a vibrant illustrative style, their work celebrates the diverse assembly of earth's creatures with a healthy dose of humor and whimsy. What began with a borrowed wheel and makeshift outdoor kiln (inspiring the name "Smokepail Studios") is now a full time shared artistic pursuit driven by the pair's passion for pottery and painting. Ellen and Dia can be found at art markets around New York State, and Handwork is thrilled to represent them in our store!
