Colored in muted greens, blues, and browns, this intricate ceramic vase was designed using a combination of wheel throwing, sculpting, and sgraffito techniques. A family of otters swim playfully amid patches of seaweed. The lid of the jar features an adorable hand sculpted otter lounging on its back with its favorite rock!

About the Artist:

Smokepail Studios is the brainchild of mother-daughter duo Dia and Ellen Haffar. Combining hand-thrown forms with a vibrant illustrative style, their work celebrates the diverse assembly of earth's creatures with a healthy dose of humor and whimsy. What began with a borrowed wheel and makeshift outdoor kiln (inspiring the name "Smokepail Studios") is now a full time shared artistic pursuit driven by the pair's passion for pottery and painting.
